吃喝玩樂 E.D.M is a 4 piece bilingual pop-rock band. The dynamic band is fronted by Ruth Miaoru on vocals together with Nat on vocals and keyboard, Fatt on guitar and footdrums as well as Spruce on saxophone. Though a 4 piece band, their sounds are comparable to that of a larger band size because of their unique instrument combinations. The versatile band is capable of delivering both lively and emotional renditions of songs across different genres and transit between ballads and high energy pop hits effortlessly.
Individual Summary
Ruth Miaoru has garnered some of the industry’s most influential personalities’ affirmations as a promising singer-songwriter and all rounded artiste. She released an EP album titled in Singapore in 2013. Beneath her sweet and petite deposition lies a set of powerhouse vocals which has earn her much recognition on local and international stages. She represented Singapore in Taiwan’s televised popular talent search show, Million Star. Super Idol, 金牌麦克风,我要当歌手, and is also one of the Top 5 singers in the Voice of China Singapore selections 2014. Miaoru’s self-penned songs can be heard over local radio airwaves. She has also sung many demos for artistes like JJ Lin, Joi Chua, Zhang Jing, and is also the singer for many radio jingles and Mediacorp theme songs.
Since the age of 7 Nat has been singing on stage with the various choirs that he has performed and competed with. Nat has also worked as a supporting vocalist for Taiwanese singers Jacky Wu, Kang Kang and Jason Chung during their concert tour 《三大難高音》 in Singapore and Malaysia. In 2014, Nat emerged as the Top 6 Finalist for The Voice of China Season 3 Singapore Auditions 《中國好聲音新加坡招募站 前6強》, proving once again his competence as a performer. Today, Nat is the resident singer and keyboardist at Shuffle Bistro Bar, and performs regularly at corporate events and weddings.
Fatt is no stranger in the music scene, a guitar veteran better known as the “happy feet”, who has developed his unique playing style. Fatt is recognized for his one-man band setup (guitar+bass+footdrum) which is constantly evolving and seeking to leave an impression after every performance.
Fast rising saxophonist, Spruce Teo caught the attention of the media and many in the music scene as a youth music talent after being handpicked by International Superstar Wang Lee Hom during a competition in 2011. Spruce had also the opportunity to collaborate with local greats like Singapore Idol Taufik Batisah. As a multi-saxophonist, Spruce is often characterised by his forte in smooth stylistics and energetic approach with R&B and Contemporary Jazz, influenced by several years spent as a classical percussionist and also his training in Traditional Jazz as part of the Esplanade’s Bright Young things programme.
